Cornflakes chiwda A great Indian snack to be enjoyed at any time. basically a sweet and savoury spicy snack or mixture recipe prepared from crunchy cornflakes. Ingredients: - 3 tsp olive oil / any cooking oil 1/4 cup peanuts 2 tbsp roasted gram dal 1/4 cup cashews 1/4 cup raisins 1/4 cup almonds few curry leaves 1/4 tsp turmeric 1 tsp red chilli powder 1/2 tsp chaat masala 1 tsp Castor sugar salt to taste 2 cups ready to eat corn flakes Instructions firstly, in a large kadai roast cornflakes without oil till it turns crisp then keep aside. heat olive oil saute in peanuts on low flame, till it turns crisp. also add roasted gram dal and saute for few seconds. further saute cashews to golden brown now add raisins and few curry leaves. saute till raisins puff up and curry leaves turn crisp. add turmeric, chilli powder, chaat masala, sugar and salt to taste. saute on low flame for few seconds. now add 2 cups ready to eat corn flakes and cook for about 5 min. Corn Fritter INGREDIENTS 2 Cup American corn 2-3 tab Gram flour besan 2 tab semolina 3-4 Green chilli 1/2 tsp Red Chilli 1 tsp Coriander powder 2 tab Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1/8 tsp Asafoetida 1/2 tsp fennel seeds 1/4 tsp carom seeds Salt to taste Oil to deep fry INSTRUCTIONS In a mixing jar add American corn and green chilli with 1/2 cup of water and make coarse paste. In a bowl Add gram flour, semolina, red chilli, coriander powder, asafoetida, fennel seeds, carom seeds, coriander leaves, salt, ground corn paste and mix well. If needed add some more water.  The consistency of the batter should be medium (not too thin, not too thick). Heat oil in a kadhai and once it is hot put small portions of pakoda mix for frying. Keep frying on low-medium until golden brown. Take out pakoda on tissue paper so that excess oil remove. Serve with chutney and sauce.

Dal dhokli Dal dhokli is traditional gujarati dish! a perfect combination of spiced whole wheat flour dhoklis simmered in Gujarati dal, this can be classified as a sumptuous one-pot meal. Ingredients For The Dhoklis 1 cup whole wheat flour salt to taste 1/2 tsp chilli powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/8 tsp asafoetida 1 tbsp oil whole wheat flour for rolling For The Dal 1 cup toovar dal salt to taste 2 tsp lemon juice 2-3 finely chopped green chilli 1 tsp chilli powder 3-4 stick curry leaves 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp ghee 1 tsp oil 1/4 tsp asafoetida 1/4 tsp garam masala 2 no. Murmura Ladoo/Puffed Rice Ladoo Recipe INGREDIENTS: - 4-5 cups Murmura/Puffed Rice 1 cup Grated Jaggery or gud 1 tsp Ghee Water for greasing palms METHOD: - Roast murmura in heavy bottom pan until crisp it takes around 4-5 min. Now keep aside. Grate or cut jaggery using grater or knife. Take a big heavy bottom pan and switch on the gas. Heat the ghee add Jaggery Start stirring jaggery and make sure to keep flame slow. Soon you will notice jaggery will start to melt. We need to stir it till the whole lot bubbles up. Do not wait for jaggery to change its colour. Once the whole jaggery syrup bubbles up evenly add murmura and mix well. Take it off from the flame. Apply water on your palm and make ladoos till the puffed rice is hot. Once the lot cools down it will become hard.

Oats Soup Ingredients Oats - 1 cup Onion - 1  (small finely chopped) Green Chilly - 1 (finely chopped) Garlic - 2 clove (minced) Salt - to taste Black Paper powder - 1/8 tsp Water- 1 cup Milk - 1 cup (low fat) Oil - 1 tsp (olive oil) Coriander- for garnish Method Heat oil in a pan and saute the onions, green chilly and garlic till they begin to sweat. Now add the oats and fry along with it for 2 minutes. Add salt and water and let it come to a boil. Now add the milk and black paper powder to it and bring to a boil. Garnish the oats soup with coriander.  Serve hot.

GAJAR KA ACHAR/ CARROT PICKLE

Gajar Ka Achar or Carrot Pickle is spicy indian pickle. This can be served on the side of any indian meal consisting of roti/paratha or rice. This pickle is really easy to make and can be stored about 1.5 months in a glass jar. INGREDIENTS: - 1 kg Carrots 3 Tsp Red Chilli Powder 1 1/2 Tsp Salt or to taste 1 Tsp Dry Mango Powder 1/2 TspTurmeric Powder 2 Tsp Fennel Seeds 3-4 Tsp Mustard Seeds 1/2 Tsp Asafoetida 2 tab Achar masala 1/2 cup groundnut oil RECIPE: - Wash & peel the carrots and dry them completely. Cut the carrots into long thick slices. Heat oil in a pan and keep it aside to cool down. In a mixture jar grind mustard Seeds, salt, hing, red chilli powder, achar masala, turmeric powder, dry mango powder, asafoetida and keep it aside. GUD PAPDI This gud papdi recipe is also know as gol papdi and shukhdi. It is made of wheat flour and jaggery. INGREDIENTS: - 1 1/2 cup wheat flour 1 cup shredded Jaggery 1/2 cup ghee 1/4 tsp cardamom powder Pinch of nutmeg powder Method: - First prepare the plate to set the gud papdi. Grease the plate well using ghee and keep aside. Take the ghee in a pan. Turn the heat on low-medium. Once ghee is melted and gets slightly hot, add wheat flour and mix it well. Roast it with stirring constantly for 10-15 minutes. Or till the flour gets some color and you will get toasted aroma of the flour. Add cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and mix it well. Turn off the flame. Then add jaggery. It will melt right away. Quickly mix it. Immediately pour into the prepared plate, even out the surface using back of the spatula or back of the steel glass or katori.
